18 mouthwatering Asian dishes from around the web to help you ring in the Lunar New Year in delicious style!

18 Ways to Ring in the Year of the Monkey was put together by Hayley, a new contributor here at TVFGI. Hayley will be stopping by now and then to bring us mouth watering round ups.

Hello everybody, this is Hayley.  Since the Chinese New Year is coming up in a few weeks we thought it would be fun to share a collection of Asian recipes from some of our favorite bloggers.

My first introduction to Asian food was in a little restaurant called China Pearl Cafe — I can clearly remember the paper place mats with the signs of the Chinese zodiac printed on them, and how my birthday fell on the year of the tiger.  I remember egg rolls and egg drop soup, and devouring bowls of irresistible fried wonton strips…my sister and I always ordered the Chicken Lo Mein.  I also remember being transfixed by the restaurant’s collection of framed moving picture art mounted on the walls (think tranquil cascading waterfalls.)  The place has long since shuttered, and my palate has matured well beyond those greasy Lo Mein noodles, but my passion for Asian cuisine lives on!

So let’s get right to it — from dumplings and soups to noodles and buns, these dishes are vibrant, bold, and full of nuanced flavors. Grab your soup spoons and your chopsticks and enjoy!
