This looks divine but can someone tell me how to get really good heirloom tomatoes? I’ve tried at the local grocery store a couple of times and once at a farmers’ market but to my surprise they were all horrible tasting but looked beautiful.

Lisa, I tend to agree with you, heirlooms can sometimes be kind of tasteless. Definitely homegrown and farmer’s markets are your best bet!

I love everything about summer tomatoes and basil. The different colors are gorgeous.

Your photography is outstanding. I adore tomatoes, especially heirlooms this time of the year. I think I could eat tomatoes everyday of my life. Your little bites would be an entire meal for me.

If you still have some peaches you could make a lovely peach and tomoato salad. We have been having them sliced and layered with some fresh basil and balsamic….even with a bit of goat cheese. Just lovely.
Summer tomatos are the best. Looks wonderful!

What beautiful tomatoes! Did you grow them yourself or did you get them at that farm place?

Oh, so tempting! My summer tomatoes are already finished. I can hardly wait to start our fall planting in just a few more weeks. I never did try a green tomato and I feel like I completely missed out!

I really enjoyed this post. The colors alone are a feast for the eyes. You know, of course, that you’ve made it necessary for me to cut a great slice of a Brandywine to make a tomato sandwich for lunch today :-). I hope you enjoy the remainder of the weekend. Blessings…Mary
