I’m usually not interested in these crazy National This and National That days. Like, yesterday was National Peanut Cluster Day. Come on.
But National Meatball Day? That’s something I can get behind.
I love meatballs. They’re like little soldiers, all lined up, just waiting to be of service. Like these little bite sized Bourbon Meatballs—drenched in apricot chili bourbon sauce, they’re perfect for the cocktail hour.
But I also love the giant pillowy Meatballs al Forno…all you need is a little bowl, a sprinkle of cheese, a glass of wine and you’re good for the night.
Lebanese Lamb and Beef Meatballs are spiced with cumin, allspice and cardamom, loaded with fresh mint, studded with pine nuts, and drizzled with yogurt sauce.
Swedish Meatballs with a creamy gravy over noddles and a side of lignonberry sauce makes one of the coziest winter dinners I can imagine.
Herbed Meatballs are the classic for spaghetti, but livened up with fresh tomato sauce and tons of fresh herbs.
You can use these tiny spicy sausage meatballs in Lasagna…
And if you don’t eat meat, you can still enjoy Mini Green Falafel.
I love meatballs! How about you?

March 10, 2013 at 12:11 pmDo you even have to ask that question? I’m not even that big of a meat-eater, but who can resist the pull of tiny, delicious food that you can dip in virtually anything? Not me. I would eat any/all of these, Especially those lebanese ones (my heart!) and seriously, i need to remember to try making those green falafel balls.
