This energy boosting date shake smoothie combines dates, yogurt, and almond butter into a luxuriously thick, creamy drink that's naturally sweet and super delish.
Add all of the ingredients to a blender (I use a Vitamix).
Blend until smooth. You may need to stop and readjust the ingredients once or twice, and use the tamper to make sure everything gets incorporated. If it's a bit too thick add milk to thin it down. Give it a little taste to adjust any of the flavors.
Pour into chilled glasses and enjoy.
Notes
* Any type of dates will work, Medjoolare common, I found Deglet Noor dates which are smaller and taste just like caramel. Look for soft fruit and avoid any that are old, very dry or hard. Regular packaged dates in your dried fruit section of the supermarket are fine. If your dates feel very firm and dry soak them in hot water for 10-15 minutes before using.** I used thick skyr yogurt, which is similar to Greek yogurt. You can use a thinner yogurt as well.
