Creamy Vidalia Onion Dip is a deliciously irresistible update of the classic onion soup mix dip that we all grew up eating. I lightened it up and added lots of fresh minced sweet onion ~ sorry mom, but this is sooooo much better!
Mince the onion very finely. You'll want about 1 cup for this recipe. Put it in a mixing bowl along with the sour cream, mayo, yogurt, and soup mix. Blend well. Cover tightly and refrigerate until ready to serve.
When ready to serve, transfer the dip to a serving bowl and top with the snipped chives. Serve with chips or with veggie sticks.
Notes
Add some horseradish or prepared horseradish cream to the onion dip to give it a real kick.
Add minced jalapeños or a few shakes of Tabasco sauce for a spicy onion dip.
Spoon the dip onto endive leaves for elegant single servings.
Serve the dip in the center of a gorgeous platter of rainbow vegetables
Use the dip as a base for my Veggie Dip Cups ~ perfect for summer parties.
