5 Vibrant Tangerine Recipes to celebrate the juiciest of all the citrus! Load up on these healthy fruits when you see them piled high at the supermarket because I’ve got enough recipes to keep you busy for the rest of the season.
Tangerines, satsuma, and clementines all belong to the Mandarin family of citrus. They’re some of my favorites because they have a deeper, sweeter, less acidic flavor than regular oranges. Plus they’re so easy to peel. And did you know just one tangerine will give you almost all the vitamin C you need for the day? Here are some fun ways to use them…
CLEMENTINE JAM
This jam has been so popular ever since I first published the recipe in 2015. Since clementine season runs October through January, you still have time to make a batch. If you’ve got sweet juicy clementines on hand, this jam is a must make, your toast won’t know what hit it.
FRESH TANGERINE SCONES
Fresh citrus is infused into these tender scones in layers. Between the zest, the juice, and the glaze, you can’t miss that familiar tang.
TANGERINE SHORTBREAD TART WITH FRESH ROSEMARY
Tangerine marmalade is layered between a buttery shortbread crust and buttery shortbread crumbles. Fresh rosemary gives it a unique edge. Bring it to the book club meeting. And if you don’t have a book club, start one, just so you can wow them with this tart.
SPICY TANGERINE CHICKEN
I know you’ve had stir fried chicken. You’ve probably had orange chicken, it’s a favorite at the mall food court. But until you’ve had homemade spicy tangerine chicken, we really can’t talk.
TANGERINE POPPY SEED PANCAKES
When it’s tangerine season, no meal is out of bounds. I need to figure out a way to enjoy them at all hours of the day. Enter tangerine pancakes.
