Peanut butter is one of those flavors some of us can’t get enough of. And it happens to have just the right texture and flavor to enhance so many recipes. Here are my best peanut butter desserts to satisfy every craving and every occasion.
Are you on a low carb or other restrictive type of diet? Because you might be experiencing peanut butter cravings…it’s a thing. I know when my energy flags in the afternoon I go for a spoon and the jar in the cupboard. It might be our body’s way of telling us what it needs. Peanut butter is full of protein, potassium, magnesium, fiber, and you might not realize that it’s a good fat (like the kind in avocados!) Pb is also high in a phytonutrient called beta-sitosterol, which one study found may have value as an anti-depressant…just putting that out there 🙂
What’s my favorite peanut butter for baking?
My go to brand for baking is Jif Natural Creamy. I think it has great roasted peanut flavor, and the consistency is just right for baking. I know many of you like to use all natural, minimally processed pbs, and they are healthier, but be aware that you really need to mix them well before using.
Old Fashioned Peanut Butter Cake ~
This cake is quickly becoming one of the most popular recipes on my blog…EVER! And for good reason ~ it’s got layers of rich, peanutty flavor and an undeniable old school charm. This recipe is for die-hard peanut butter lovers ~ just read the reviews!
Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Scones ~
I’ve made lots of scones, but this one is special. I just love the soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture and the peanut butter flavor that comes through in these scones. I also love that they make peanut butter and chocolate breakfast-appropriate.
Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Bread ~
This moist quick bread is another delicious excuse to pair up peanut butter and chocolate. It walks the line between dessert and breakfast beautifully, and you can customize the recipe to your favorites…super chunk and milk chocolate? All natural with bittersweet? Done and done.
Peanut Butter Frosted Brownies ~
Those glossy swoops of thick peanut butter frosting say it all. Seriously. I’ll just stop here.
Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Shortbread Cookies ~
I’m a big fan of shortbread cookies because they’re simple to make, and you can’t beat that buttery, crumbly texture. Peanut butter makes itself right at home in this classic recipe. I use larger sized dark chocolate chips for bold chocolate bursts of flavor.
I’m an equal opportunity nut-butter-lover 🙂
