I simply did a leisurely scroll through my dessert archives (did you know there’s over 900 of them?) and made note of the recipes that stopped me in my tracks. This is a fun exercize, and I learned a little bit about myself in the process:
I’m a nut person. Almonds, pecans, hazelnuts, peanut butter, frangipane, Nutella. Nuts show up everywhere.
I love warm, aromatic flavors. Cardamom is a particular favorite, along with coffee, espresso, maple, molasses, bourbon, and browned or caramelized flavors.
Texture is a big deal to me. I love the extremes, and especially desserts that combine contrasting textures.
There’s a cozy, rich, toasted, aromatic quality across almost the entire collection, let me know if any of your faves made my list!
