5 fall desserts that will make you swoon ~ 5 of my favorite easy desserts guaranteed to make you weak at the knees…better be sitting down for this one, just in case.
Homemade Gingerbread Ice Cream
~ there is something about this ice cream that is so unique, maybe it’s the spices, or the touch of molasses, all I know is it’s one of the most wonderful things I’ve ever tasted. If you have an ice cream machine you simply have to make this, and if you don’t, maybe you should put one on your wish list. (The ice cream machine I own, love, and recommend can be seen here.)
Outrageous Almond Butter Skillet Blondies
~ the kid in me is fascinated by skillet cookies and blondies, they’re the ultimate ‘I’m a grown up now and I can bake and eat what I want‘ kind if dessert, and they seem to invite you to grab a spoon and attack from all angles. You’ll want a heavy cast iron skillet for this, and Lodge skillets are so sturdy they never give out; you’ve got them for life (or until one of your children takes yours to college.) My 10″ skillet is the perfect size for a decadent giant blondie.
Glazed Gingerbread Bundt Cake
~ this cake is too beautiful for words, partly due to the pretty Stained Glass Bundt Pan from Nordic Ware, and partly due to that glowing gingerbread.
Hot Chili Pepper Truffles
~ truffles are the original to-die-for dessert, so elemental they hardly need a recipe at all, it’s easy to memorize the formula. They make the best last minute gifts during the holidays, I like to give them in little cut glass bowls like the vintage one below. You can find similar bowls on Amazon, here.
Salted Maple Pot de Creme with Bourbon Whipped Cream
~ of all the desserts, pot de creme has the most luxurious, silken texture, it’s creaminess taken to the highest level. Combine that with a dollop of bourbon infused whipped cream and you might as well surrender, there’s no fighting this one! I make mine right in my favorite little Weck canning jars, you can see the ones I used here.
